Significant FiguresConversion factors generally have six significant figures, but some may have as few as three. Please see the sources page for information about how many significant figures each factor actually has. The number of significant figures in the result will depend on the number of significant figures in the input and in the conversion factors. (Entering 2.00 EUR will give more accurate results than entering 2 EUR.) If significant figures are not used for rounding the results may have more significant digits than the input or conversion factor. Rounding to Smallest Currency UnitThe results are rounded to the nearest amount that can be expressed in coins and notes. For example, US Dollars are rounded to the penny and New Zealand Dollars are rounded to the nearest ten cents. |
The Pound Sterling (and its Manx equivalent) is also used in the Isle of Man (which is a Crown Dependency and has never been part of any of the UK or any of the other jurisdications listed above.)
A similar situation would obtain for the Channel Islands, and possibly Gibraltrar as well!
Could the text amended to reflect this?
Sure! I added the Channel Islands and Isle of Mann, including flags.
Gibraltar has its own unit of currency, the Gibraltar Pound.
Have refreshed the page as you suggested and it's very nice to see IoM acknowledged in this way !!!
So many people omit us.
I would still suggest that you tidy up the duplicated reference to 'The UK and The United Kingdom' though! It is the same as saying 'The USA and The United States'.
Also 'Britian' should be 'Britain'.
How comes when you put 100.00 Euros in and it comes up with 67.97 pounds, and then when you put 67.97 pounds in it comes up with 100.01???.
Ian - what your saying is accurate - but surely you have better things to do than proof read a conversioan web site, even in the IoM?
All I asked was a simple question to convert£60 Sterling to Euro?
under options choose "don't round results" and it'll give you the exact figure, which will work both ways.
I would like to see what the euro and pound look like. Is there any where on the net where I can see it before I get to england?
I can't believe there's a comments section on a conversion website. I also can't believe that I'm posting something on it. btw, the United Kingdom is comprised of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Great Britain is in turn composed of Scotland, England and Wales and the Isle of Wight. Only kidding.
This is to confusing! all I want to do is convert USA money to Irish money! GAHHHH!
Its not hard. From the first page - coinmill.com select USdollar thenEuro (which is irish money) and youre done!
Can you explain the difference between Pounds Sterling and Great Britian Pounds? Are these two different currencies?
is the pound sterling the same as the gbp
Would everyone please note that the plural of Euro is "Euro" (not Euros)- people living in a non-Euro zone frequently use the incorrect "Euros"! The same is true for "cent". Thus EUR 68.75 is "Sixty Eight Euro and Seventy Five Cent"! There is an EEC directive stating these rules!
IS this thing updated every day, cos.I use it for business purposes.

Is there any way of number formatting the results to include the appropriate commas, so that 10000 euros is displayed as 10,000?
